Privacy Policy for Padly
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Padly ("the App"), published by Bitaura Technologies ("we", "us", "our"), handles information. By using Padly and the Padly Helper desktop application, you agree to this policy.
Padly turns your phone into a wireless trackpad, keyboard, and remote for your own PC (over Wi‑Fi) and TV or console (over Bluetooth).
The short version
- No account. There is no sign‑up, login, or profile.
- Your control data stays between your devices. Mouse movement, keystrokes, clipboard, and files travel directly from your phone to your own computer over your local network — they are never sent to us or any third party.
- We do not sell your data and show no advertising.
- To keep the app reliable and understand how it's used, Padly uses Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging) — explained below.
How Padly works
Everything Padly controls happens between your own devices on your own network:
- Pointer, keyboard, and remote input is sent from your phone directly to the paired PC (via the Padly Helper running on that PC) or to your TV/console over Bluetooth.
- File Transfer sends files you choose from your phone directly to your paired PC over your local network. The files are saved on that PC; they do not pass through us.
- Clipboard Sync copies text between your phone and your paired PC over your local network only.
- Document Scan uses your camera to capture a document. The resulting image stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
- Volume and media controls are commands sent to your paired PC or TV.
What we collect (Google Firebase)
To keep Padly reliable and improve it, we use Google Firebase. This data is processed by Google on our behalf and governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We use it only in aggregate to improve the app; we do not sell it.
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous app‑usage and interaction data: screens viewed, which buttons/features are used, connection attempts and successes, app version, device model, operating‑system version, country, and an app‑instance identifier. It does not include your keystrokes, clipboard, files, or what you control on your computer.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reports with device state and a diagnostic stack trace, so we can fix bugs.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — a device push token so we can send you notifications (for example, important updates). You can disable notifications in your system settings.
Your control data never goes through Firebase — keystrokes, clipboard, and files are sent directly to your own computer over your local network only.
Device permissions we use, and why
Padly requests only the permissions needed for its features:
- Local network / Wi‑Fi — to discover and connect to the Padly Helper on your PC.
- Bluetooth — to pair with and control a TV, console, or other device as a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse.
- Camera — only to scan the pairing QR code and for the Document Scan feature. Images stay on your device.
- Notifications — to show connection, update, and general notifications (optional; you can turn it off).
Other third‑party components
The QR scanner and document scanner use Google ML Kit, which runs on‑device. ML Kit may send limited, anonymous diagnostics to Google to operate those features. Padly never uploads your camera images or scans. Padly bundles its own fonts, contains no advertising SDKs, and does not use an advertising ID.
Your choices
- Turn off notifications in Android Settings → Apps → Padly.
- Uninstalling Padly stops all future collection.
The Padly Helper (Windows)
The Padly Helper is a small program you run on your own PC so your phone can connect to it over your local Wi‑Fi network. It listens for connections from your phone on your local network and acts on the input it receives. It does not send your data to us.
Children's privacy
Padly is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Security
Connections between your phone and the Padly Helper use a pairing code. Because communication stays on your local network and between your own devices, you should still use Padly on networks you trust.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of Padly after changes means you accept the updated policy.
